The Draft LEP and DCP2009 exhibition period formally closed on 5 May 2010. About 1500 submissions were received that cover a range of issues, from the overall provisions of the DLEP, specific provisions of the DCP and zoning provisions as they relate to individual sites. The Department of Planning has also required Council to undertake strategic investigations into some matters before the plan is returned to the Department of Planning.

Given the number and range of issues raised in public submissions, it is aimed that a report on submissions and issues regarding draft LEP 2009 & draft DCP 2009 will be formally considered by Council in early 2011. Once a specific date is set for consideration of this matter by Council it will be notified on this website.

The purpose of this website is to let you know about new zonings for the LGA. Use of land within the Gosford Local Government Area (LGA) is currently governed by town planning controls and zoning regulations. These set out what your land is zoned, what uses are permissible and other controls and legislated regulations that apply to you and your neighbours.

The NSW State Government is introducing a range of measures to improve how building, development and landuse regulation occurs in NSW.  This includes the preparation of a "Standard Instrument Local Environmental Plan (LEP)."

Gosford City Council has prepared its draft plan and it is called the draft Gosford Local Environmental Plan 2009 (DLEP 2009). The DLEP 2009 comprises of a number of maps and written instruments.  The DLEP 2009 instrument needs to read in conjunction with the maps and factsheets available on this website.
